KME Awarded 8 Tankers For United States Air Force
Defense Supply Center, Philadelphia has awarded eight, 4,000 gallon water tankers to KME Fire Apparatus to be used at Air Force bases in the both the US and Europe. These units will add to the growing number of Air Force bound KME’s worldwide with recent deliveries of commercial medium duty rescues and custom chassis heavy duty rescues. Deliveries on the tankers will begin early 2011.
The tankers will be built on International WorkStar chassis and include a 1250gpm single stage pump, a 4,000 gallon wetside polypropylene water tank and air actuated dumps at both the sides and rear. The body will be a 3/16” aluminum body with low side compartmentation.
