If your truck needs lots of firepower, but still must perform off-road, then consider the KME interface pumper. Packing up to 850 gallons of water, these units carry the tools you need to places where a typical pumper can’t go. And for the interface zone, these trucks can be configured for both wildland and structural duties.

TRUE PUMP-AND-ROLL

There are lots of pumps that can stay in gear while the chassis is rolling. What’s difficult is to correctly size the pump so that you maintain a consistent flow regardless of how fast the chassis may be moving. KME’s engineers will work with you to properly select the pump so that under all circumstances, you will have the flow you expect. Whether it’s a PTO driven pump, an auxiliary driven pump, or a high-volume split shaft pump, we have the experience to allow the truck to perform where you need it to.

CUSTOMIZED BODIES

Nothing is more important to a department than to be able to integrate the truck into their expected operations. Whether you need a true Type 3 or Type 4 wildland-only unit or an offroad pumper with full structural capability, we have a package for you. And if you don’t see it here, our engineers will work with you to design the package you want. Ladder storage? Wheel well bottle compartments? Flush or rollup doors? Enclosed hosebed? All of these options and more are available to you in order to fulfill the mission of your department.
RECOGNIZED PERFORMANCE

It’s not enough to take an on-road design, slap it on a 4x4 chassis, and call it a wildland. Those who fight wildand fires for a living know that the truck must be designed from the ground up for a different kind of mission. As a result, KME has developed packages that meet the requirements of some of the premier wildland firefighting agencies. We have packages that meet the Forest Service’s model 326/346/448 specifications, the BLM’s model 667 specifications, and CALFIRE model 34 specifications. If you’d like to take advantage of that expertise, all you have to do is ask.
