The Quick Attack / Patrol unit is the backbone of the Wildland fleet.
Quick and nimble, these units are designed to take the fight to the
fire, wherever it may be. If you also require performance on the
pavement, these units can also be configured for everyday response,
including light rescue and nuisance fires, all while maintaining their
Wildland heritage.

TRUE PUMP-AND-ROLL

The auxiliary pump ensures that the pump will perform at a consistent level regardless of the speed of the chassis. This guarantees that the truck will be able to hit the fire under all conditions, whether you are using a hosereel, a forestry line, or a remote-controlled turret. The pump engines can be supplied in gasoline driven variants with up to 20 horsepower from several reputable manufacturers, or they can be supplied in a diesel driven variant in 26 or 60 hp allowing flows up to 250 gpm @ 150 psi. And the fuel can be supplied by a separate tank or by the chassis fuel tank itself to ensure that if the truck can move, you always have pumping power.

HEAVY DUTY BODY CONSTRUCTION

The offroad environment puts stresses on a body that most structural engines will never see. All of KME’s wildland designs take this into account through the use of such items as heavy duty subframes and springer mounts. And all KME produced bodies don’t sacrifice on the features you love on your larger trucks such as maximized storage space, sweepout compartments, flush or rollup doors, and wheel well storage. And never forget – KME is not afraid to customize. If you don’t see the configuration you want, KME will work with you to tweak your truck just the way you want it.
RECOGNIZED PERFORMANCE

It’s not enough to take an on-road design, slap it on a 4x4 chassis, and call it a Wildland. Those who fight Wildand fires for a living know that the truck must be designed from the ground up for a different kind of mission. As a result, KME has developed packages that meet the requirements of some of the premier Wildland firefighting agencies. We have packages that meet the Forest Service’s model 643U specifications and the BLM’s model 662 / 664 specifications. If you’d like to take advantage of that expertise, all you have to do is ask.
