KME has a full line of midmount platforms and ladders with travel heights as low as 119" [9' 11"], allowing your department to manuver in low-clearance environments. In addition they feature a short overall length that ranges from 42' to 47', depending on model, allowing you to navigate the tightest area. However, low travel heights and short overall length don't equal small stroage capabilities. KME midmount aerials allow for storage of 1,000' of LDH hose, a minimum of 115' of ground ladders, 300 gallons of water and plenty of storage space for your department's equipment.

  INDUSTRY LEADING PLATFORM DESIGN
 

If your department's invested in putting a platform on the end of your aerial device, rest assured that KME’s platform has evolved to meet your every need.  The new spacious platform now offers 20.8 cubic feet of space providing adequate room for 4 (four) fire fighters.  Even with the increased size, KME’s platform still features mitered corners allowing for easy placement against the building, regardless of apparatus placement.

A new third door at the rear of the platform is now standard on all mid mount platforms.  The door has been added to allow safer access into the platform from the body.  No more tip toeing along the outside of the walkway to get to the platform access doors.  This is one of many safety items engineered into the KME aerial as a standard

Several options are available including storage compartments, 110-volt lighting, 12-volt lighting and single or dual water monitors designs from Akron, Elkhart or TFT.  KME’s platform are also available with our 3-in-1 attachment which provide options for stokes basket restraint system, high point change of direction and parapet roof ladder attachment.

ULTIMATE BELOW HORIZONTAL PERFORMANCE

It isn’t always about how high you can go but what capabilities you’re aerial has at low elevations.  KME’s steel ladder has a lift geometry that allows you to go 12 degrees below horizontal without any impact on platform capacities or while flowing water.  That same design also allows our 100’ mid mount to set the platform on the ground with the ladder fully retracted at a mere 29’ from the apparatus.  

KME’s aerial platform turntables exclusively feature our “fail-safe” turntable retention bolts.  A 1-1/4” bolt passes through the entire turntable structure, which when set at its specified torque pre stresses each weld in the turntable.  This feature minimizes the stresses of operating your aerial during low level conditions.

E-CONTROL™ MOTION CONTROL SYSTEMS

Every KME aerial platform features its exclusive motion control electronic system, standard, providing you the ultimate confidence and safety while operating the aerial device.  Our large and easy to read IQAN color monitor displays an active-load chart, breathing air status, rung and cradle alignment, height, extension and reach.  This critical information is available to both operator's at the turntable and in the platform.

The E-Zone™ control system also provides cab and body avoidance protecting your investment.  Short jack is also monitored preventing accidental rotation over the short jacked side.  E-Speed™ constantly maintains a consistent rotation speed regardless of ladder extension or height.  E-Cush™ provides feathering cushion for the extension/retraction system, elevation system and outrigger functions.
