The KME “Severe Service™” chassis was engineered and designed for use in extreme conditions and environments while providing reliability to their customers call after call. Starting with our proven cab design platform, KME has assembled a chassis that is truly severe in that every component has been subjected to high volume use in extreme conditions with over a million miles of real world testing. Originally designed for the country’s largest fleet, cities, and fire departments nationwide are going “Severe”.

INTERIOR
The Severe Service
™ interior is paint matched with a rugged vinyl upholstered roof, dash and doghouse that provide a durable interior ready for the most extreme service conditions. The double insulated cab minimizes high horsepower heat and reduces cab noise to 75db, making it the quietist cab in the fire service.
SEATING AND STORAGE
The Severe Service™ is available in a variety of configurations that each offer plenty of 
space: two-door with rear storage,
three door command cab, and four door tilt cabs with seating for up to ten firefighters in fixed, air, or electric seats. The cab design provides plenty of head and leg space. There are numerous options for seating arrangements, storage cabinets, and command desks.
FIREFIGHTER SAFETY
The Severe Service™ cab is fully crash tested and includes a ¼” doghouse, 3/16” doors and an extruded tube structure with ¼” and 3/16” wall thickness. These features coupled with the optional ‘Rolltek®” protection system makes this cab the most rugged and safe cab in the fire market.
