KME Fire Apparatus in Nesquehoning, PAKME Fire Apparatus comprises a large part of the Kovatch Organization. Founded in 1946, the Organization is today an industry leader in the manufacturing of American-engineered, custom-built specialty vehicles for a variety of markets worldwide.

World headquarters for KME and the Kovatch Organization is Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania. This complex sprawls over 70 acres with 13 plants representing more than 700,000 square feet under roof and approximately 800 employees. The company has three factory branches located in California, New York, and Virginia.

KME Fire Apparatus is an industry leader and recognized as the industry's most custom fire apparatus manufacturer. We offer a broad range of sole source manufactured products including ARFF, Wildland Vehicles, Pumpers, Rescue Trucks, Industrial Foam Trucks, Tankers, and the largest family of aerial devices in the world. With its factory branches as well as a nationwide representative network, KME has grown rapidly in the last decade by integrating experienced people with innovative engineering and modern manufacturing techniques.

KME is located in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. This northeastern region is centrally located between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Routes 78, 80, and 81. From Allentown:  476 North to 209 South (Mahoning Valley Exit). Follow 209 South through Lehighton and Jim Thorpe. KME is at the intersection of Routes 54 and 209. <40 minutes>

From Wilkes Barre/Scranton:  81 South to 309 South (Hometown Exit). 309 South to 54 East. KME is at the intersection of Routes 54 and 209. <45 minutes>
